My
thought here was even though White can attack the base of my pawn chain and
fight for the center with a timely e4, Black will still have an established,
advanced 3 versus two pawn structure on the queenside to use for offense.

like many times, you only have to make one good move a game to win. or you only
have to make one bad move to lose. 18...Nd4 was the good move, exploiting the
tactical flaw. Here the situation requires Black to cut his loses right away to
stay in the game. Instead, he makes the one bad move allowing the completion of
my combination and the game is over quickly.

Resignation
is appropriate, the exchange of queens is forced and the endgame is hopeless.
Dear Rob.
The NL Chess Fest was my favorite tournament, I am saddened to
learn of its demise.
I have been writing the newsletter for the local chess clubs,
entitled "game of the week". Attached are a few recent issues. They
come with both pgn readable files and regular written scores. Would you like me
to put you on the mailing list, or would you like to pick it up for your chess
magazine?
For
the benefit of the new members, I am providing this list of chess sites and
blogs. My primary reference site is the Bolyston Chess Club of Boston
which has a list of other great sites on their web site, http:www.boylstonchessclub.org In addition
here is a list of entertaining chess blogs from around the world that was
provided to me by the former columnist(Mark Weeks) of the New York
Times site, about.com . His own chess blog is http://chessforallages.blogspot.com
But get your
homework done first before you spend a lot of time on chess web sites!
