Alan Lasser’s Game of the Week        April 11, 2009

My opponent this week moves his bishop four times in the first seven moves.  Does the wacky Weissman's Defense have what it takes to punish such a deed?  Soon  8...d4 gives me the advantage, claiming a large share of the center and unleashing my bishop on the long diagonal.  My light square invasion finds targets before he can get Nbd2-e4 going for counterplay.  Then I find the sharp 23...Ne5 to send it into the Weissman's brevity file.
