Alan Lasser’s Game of the Week        June 7, 2009

Some progress is being made at the Orange Chess Club towards the goal of having a club championship tournament.  It's not definite yet, but we're thinking of July 11.

This week at the Milford Chess Club, I had a melee with Morgan. George Morgan consistently plays entertaining chess, where no one's king is safe. Both kings roam around in this game, and the struggle goes back and forth as neither of us can seem to find the best move. I squander my advantage when I drop my queen to a knight fork, but luckily I didn't have to resign because his queen was also under attack, and I had an advanced passed pawn that could cause trouble.  I don't regain the control until he puts his king on the wrong square, too far away to help stop the b pawn.
