Rob Roy is a Senior Tournament Director certified by the US Chess Federation.

He has organized/directed 300+ USCF-rated chess tournaments since 1976.

He was elected for 10 annual terms as the President of the Conn State Chess Assoc.

He wrote a chess column every Sunday for 25 years for the Waterbury Conn newspaper.

He was Editor/Publisher of Connecticut Chess Magazine, both print and online.

During 1998-2000 alone, he organized/directed these 40 USCF Tournaments :

Southington Holiday Inn 14 events (Ave turnout = 16 players).

Danbury Quality Inn 9 events (Ave turnout = 18 players).

Wesleyan Univ., Middletown 7 events (Ave turnout = 32 players).

West Haven Best Western 4 events (Ave turnout = 24 players).

Waterbury Library 4 events (Ave turnout = 8 players).

Hartford Hilton 1 event (24 players).

Stamford Quality Inn 1 event (11 players).

No longer serving as an elected officer of an organization, Rob Roy continues to

promote chess (& backgammon) in Connecticut as a private individual and patron.

He is available to organize and/or direct tournaments and/or exhibitions.
